ACTION OVER SILENCE OFFERS A VARIETY OF MILITARY/VETERAN-SPECIFIC RESOURCES TO SUPPORT YOU WHEN LIFE GETS CHALLENGING
Every Service Member and Veteran should be connected to others who understand where they've been. Being connected to others who are serving or have served our country can tackle isolation and create a sense of belonging, both of which are challenges after discharge. Increasing connectedness and belonging is critical for our well-being. We hope you’ll connect with us for individual support or attend one of our community's Peer Support groups.
WOULD YOU LIKE ONE-ON-ONE VETERAN SUPPORT?
Our Veteran, Certified Peer Support Professional will meet either in person, by phone, or via Zoom for:
- A listening ear during a difficult time
- Finding and navigating resources such as employment, medical care, mental health & substance use services, social services, and VA benefits.
LOOKING FOR SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIES WITH OTHER SERVICE MEMBERS AND/OR VETERANS?
Our Facebook page is updated regularly with local Military & Veteran-related events. And we can send you information by email – just reach out.
Here are some options to connect other Service Members/Veterans:
- Alternatives to Suicide Support Group - Every Thursday at 5:30-6:30pm, either in person or via Zoom.

- Support Groups at the Veteran Memorial & Shrine - Every Monday, 5:00-6:30pm (Veterans); Spouses Support Group is the first Saturday of the Month, 11:00am

FREE GUN STORAGE
When life feels challenging, having a gun vacation can improve safety.
We have free, temporary, Veteran-to-Veteran firearm storage for Veterans, Service Members, and family members/caregivers who wish to create time and distance from their firearms during periods of stress, transition, travel, or personal concern.

FREE GUN LOCKS, DETERRA POUCHES & NARCAN
Gun locks can protect you and your loved ones. We distribute free cable gun locks to reduce immediate access during challenging times and to protect kids/grandkids. You can also request them from the VA by emailing Rachael Dettling or by contacting us or by emailing us.
Another way to protect yourself and your family is to safely get rid of any excess or expired medication you have in the house by using our free medication disposal pouches. We also provide free Narcan, and fentanyl and xylazine test strips. Contact us to receive any of these.
